Officers meeting notes — 241028

The scouts were in the hall, we met in the Council Charter room.

The meeting was called to order at 6:30pm.

We discussed how much money we got from the italian night – dinner, donations, raffles.

Habitat for Humanity  – 3 parishioners; 4 Knights.  Amanda Gunther – HfH rep.

Coats for Kids — 4 cases from the council.  We may get another 4 cases.  $250 for a child case; $305 for a teen case.

The GK re-capped the State meeting.  It was pretty standard stuff.  Our new Financial Agent, James Ginter, was mentioned.  Every council must participate in COR (https://www.kofc.org/en/who-we-are/our-faith/cor-schedule.html).

Brunswick Stew this weekend.  Planning is going well.  Members should visit the sign-up page.  Friday at 1pm to prepare the pans and meat.  Kevin Jones suggested using the phone tree to get more St. Mary’s members attending.  Stew will be $10 / qt; $25 for 3.

Dave Miller is our lecturer.

Road Cleanup went well.  9 people filled 14 bags.

Veterans dinner – things are going well.

Ronald McDonald House dinner – well in hand.

Wood sales got switched (due to parade).  11/16; 11/17.  New item — Reindeer statuettes.  KCIC stickers $5 each.

Golf Tourney – things are going well.

Safe environment training is required for Dave Frank.

Sick list —

Eileen Long is doing well.  Up walking.  Will be monitored at UVa hospital for a while.  She texted other moms.

Mike Hicks is in the UVa  hospital (lung transplant).

Ed McCarron is at home, but getting transfusions on a regular basis. 

We need to be more attentive to our elderly Knights.

Tom Kaschak might have health issues.

We need to go through our roster for deceased members.  Kevin Jones suggested we hold an event (e.g. Breakfast) for our “Golden” Knights.
