I hope you are doing well after one week into the new year. We are doing better than other places around the country, we should feel blessed. I’m glad I have a good church and strong Knights to hang out with because this world can bring you down.
I am in the process of printing new membership cards for 2025. Please send in your dues payment when you get a chance. The amount due is still $32.00 for everyone. Some members like to round up to $40.00 to cover the Per Capita that State and Supreme charge us for each member, but that is optional and up to you if you want to pay that fee.
You are welcome to pay by check, cash, Venmo or credit card. I will have the credit card terminal at our council meeting if you prefer that option. Our Venmo account is Knights of Columbus@JMJ-Council-7538 . You can bring cash or check to the meeting or Mass and hand it to me in person. Our next meeting is Monday the 13th, 6:00pm at St. Anns. If you mail your payment please send to this address; K of C Council 7538, PO BOX 2032 Ashland, VA. 23005. All the members at St. Mary’s can hand your payment to our Treasurer Steve Coker or Dave Frank if you cannot attend the monthly meeting.
If you haven’t heard we lost one of our Knights yesterday, his name is Ed McCarron. He has been fighting cancer all last year. His funeral will be at St. Anns next Wednesday the 15th at 11am. If Ed’s family approves we may recite the Rosary for him before the funeral begins. Ed was a 4th degree member so the assembly Honor Guard will attend the funeral.
