Legislative Update: The Truth about the Abortion Amendment (PLEASE READ)

Brothers, As I presented at the Business Meeting last night, a proposed amendment to the Virginia Constitution is going to be on the November ballot providing the “fundamental right to reproductive freedom”. What is the truth? The amendment is dangerously vague and creates risky loopholes for unregulated abortions at any time, even up until birth, by unlicensed abortion providers, threatening the health of mothers and healthy babies. It removes the right of parents to be included in healthcare decisions with their children and provides protection from prosecution (shield law) to anyone that assists a women or girl getting an abortion meaning abusers, traffickers and drug companies are shielded from any wrongdoing. Out of all 50 states, Virginia saw the largest spike in the number of clinician-provided abortions in 2024 and the highest percentage increase of out-of-state patients seeking abortion services, from about 15% in 2023 to nearly 24% in 2024. It is estimated that over 50,000 abortions took place in Virginia in 2025. It’s not surprising that the abortion lobby has poured tens of millions of dollars into Virginia promoting this amendment. If it passes that number of abortions performed will increase dramatically with even more people coming from other states for abortions. To further prove the point, the Richmond City Council sold Planned Parenthood the former Brook Hill School, which is located at 4929 Chamberlayne Avenue, a predominantly Black area, for $10! Planned Parenthood is investing $6 million in the 10,000-square-foot space to build out a massive abortion clinic. The third Planned Parenthood facility in Richmond. We must get the word out to ensure that people understand the truth about the actual language in the amendment versus how it is portrayed on the ballot.
