Is the VA still hosting Knights of Columbus councils to serve the VA heros on Christmas Eve? Not sure who gets the info on this event. Prior years, to the best of my knowledge it was the GK. Anyone know? If the Knights are still providing Christmas Eve lunch/dinner to the VA, why are we not participating?

This is a good conversation for an Executive Meeting or a retreat on what direction the council wishes to go in.
My 2 cents: The VA hospital should be supported by councils that are close by. It’s a haul for us in Ashland. We punch the ‘veteran’ ticket with our meal to parishioners who are veterans. If our council were to be involved with the VA Hospital, then I believe the state level should be the lead and we can provide a couple of Knights who wish to support events at the VA Hospital. If we want to do more for veterans, I think we should stay as local as possible. There is the local Veteran Memorial Park in Hanover or we can raise money for wheelchairs, or support a LOCAL veteran charity. So my 2 cents is to decline organizing events at the VA Hospital (not against the hospital, I use it!).
Fraternally,
Kevin Jones
